In late November of 2007, a few Kanawha County School employees from the St. Albans School Bus Terminal had an idea of doing a toy/clothing drive to benefit some of our areas less fortunate children.

          At first, our idea was very simple. Take a few donations from our fellow employees and possibly solicit some help from area retailers.

          Then someone said “Wouldn’t it be awesome if we could fill a bus up?” So that’s what we did! With the help of the St. Albans Kmart, Value City Department Store, Peebles, Ballzout, St. Albans Krogers and a lot of support from area residents we filled a full size Kanawha County School Bus, with at least $10,000.00 worth of new toys, clothing and non perishable food.  We accomplished this in nine days, with less than a week’s planning and no media support.

          This year we are starting early. We have increased our goal; want to fill two buses this year. With your help we can get a great head start.

          We are asking for any donation possible to achieve our goal.
